I've always loved Evelyn on Basketball Wives and I tend to like the person that nobody else does. Iyanla digs deep inside of you to pull out your Darkest Moments so one day you will live your Brightest Life.

• In an effort to fix some of her deep rooted anger issues, ‘Basketball Wives’ star Evelyn Lozada appeared on the premiere episode of Iyanla Vanzant’s ‘Fix My Life’ which aired last night on the OWN Network. During the 40 minute segment (that was filmed before she filed for divorce], Evelyn explained her anger issues by telling Iyanla that she’s always on defense mode because she doesn't trust anyone. Iyanla, in response, asked her, ‘What is it about you that creates that energy in the world? You are the one that dictates what goes on in your life?‘
• Evelyn also revealed that her ‘ah ha’ moment regarding her behavior happened when her step-daughters were laughing about her throwing a bottle at someone on television. That’s when she realized she wasn't setting the best example but she also realized that every woman in her family deals with conflict the same way. Iyanla had Evelyn’s mom sit in on a portion of the interview and it was revealed that her mother was abandoned by her own mom when she was a little girl. Her mom also said that she feels bad for Evelyn sometimes because she just doesn't know any better.
• Throughout the interview, Evelyn expressed that she wanted to change and that she is still the 7 year old girl who is afraid of not being love as well as being afraid of losing everything that she’s acquired. Iyanla was very supportive as she spoke with Evelyn about her past, but she also gave it to her straight at times, especially when it came to her behavior on ‘Basketball Wives’. She told her:

You’ve been rewarded for being out of order and a thug among woman. You got to get that and only you can change it. We have to know what it is gonna cost you to become the truth of who you are. Because it’s gonna cost you. You get paid for that! Will you get paid for being the truth of who you are as a woman in this world?

The Greatest Love of All

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and Everything In Between: 

Ledisi

Ledisi means to bring forth.
I believe she's bringing  forth Joy through God. Every time I see her smile, I want to smile.

Ledisi was born July 9, 1978.

On July 25, 2012, I attended the best concert to date, sorry Trey Songz and  Monica.

I expected to hear Ledisi's beautiful voice, splatter amongst the room but to my surprise Ledisi danced, sung and acted out several scenes. She is smaller than I expected, too.

                         

1. She entered the stage with a shimmy silver dress and heels, energetic and beautiful.  
2. Ledisi started the show with a video playing saying "Why aren't you a gospel singer?" and throwing many stereotypes in the air. Then she began shaking her like Beyonce behind a curtain. 
3. Ledisi then danced and had so much fun, I wanted to join her. 
4. She had a quick clothes change and came back with a tight black leather blazer and pants with high heels(that appeared to be 3 or 4 inches). She gave a man from the audience a sneak preview of a different side of Ledisi.
5. Ledisi's final change was a black and white belted gown. She belted out Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love of All" and "Be Good to Yourself."

Her first album was titled "Soulsinger: The Revival" released in January 2000.
I believe the title was perfect for someone who revives my soul every time she opens her mouth.

• Revival is a restoration to use, acceptance, activity, or a new presentation of an old play, movie, opera, ballet, or similar vehicle. A time of reawakened interest in religion and/or a meeting or series of meetings for the purpose of reawakening religious faith, often characterized by impassioned preaching and public testimony.

• Ledisi headlined her first tour to promote her album, Pieces of Me. The Pieces of Me Tour played to 22 sold out shows across North America. With this album, Ledisi was nominated for 3 Grammy awards for the Grammy Awards 2012, in the categories Best R&B Album, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song, for the album and the lead single "Pieces of Me".

• Ledisi has released her first book, "Better Than Alright: Finding Peace, Love & Power" on Time Home Entertainment, Inc. The book, an innovative collaboration with ESSENCE, is filled with my fav. singer's personal photos, quotes, lyrics and richly detailed stories of the Grammy nominee's journey to acceptance of her beauty, talent and power.

• On April 6, 2012, Ledisi announced her second headlining tour, B.G.T.Y., with Eric Benet serving as an opening act.

Eric Benet opened up for My Favorite Singer and blew my mind. He moved his finger like Mariah Carey and hit notes I'd never heard before.

Before going in to the show, I seen Eric Benet exit his limo with a white tee and black jeans.
He was Born October 15, 1966.
He professed his love to his wife Manuela Testolini during the show and spoke briefly on his baby girl.

Mary Mary was born Erica Atkins and Trecina "Tina" Atkins. Erica was born April 29, 1972 and Tina was born on May 2, 1974. 
If you haven't watched their reality show on WE, I feel sorry for you. 


It shows all seven of the Atkins children, which are: Darrel (born 1965; the only living boy – as the second boy had died as a child); Maliea (born 1967); Erica and Tina; Delisa (born 1978) (who was originally a third member); Thomasina (born 1979); Alana (born 1985) and Shanta (born 1986). Thomasina and Alana sometimes sing back up for their big sisters. Due to their proximity in age, the two sisters grew up closer to one another than to any of their seven siblings.

Fantasia Barrino has been through some trivial points in her life such as rape, illiteracy, and attempted suicide but she still reigns my favorite singer. Her spirit is one of a kind.

Fantasia Barrino was born to Diane and Joseph Barrino and raised in High Point, North Carolina. Her birth date is June 30, 1984. The family traveled, performed and recorded the CD Miracles for a local label. Despite the travels, Barrino attended Andrews High School in High Point, North Carolina. Feeling embarrassed and harassed after she was raped by a classmate, she dropped out of high school. She became pregnant at 16, and on August 8, 2001, gave birth to her daughter, Zion Barrino. She auditioned in Atlanta for American Idol.

• Barrino's audition version of Tina Turner's "Proud Mary"was an early favorite in the competition.
• Her standout performance during the course of the show was a heartfelt staging of the Porgy and Bess standard "Summertime" that left her in tears from "feeling the song" and earned praise from the judges - Randy Jackson has called it the best performance in the show's history - and was named amongst the AOL's 2004 list of greatest television moments.
• For the final performance of the season, Barrino offered a second performance of "Summertime" that again drew praise from the judges; Simon Cowell remarked that she was the best contestant to ever compete in any competition, including the more than seventy Idol champions crowned nationally and internationally since the show began its first global incarnations.
•  On the finale, over 65 million votes were cast in order to determine the winner on May 26, 2004, up from 24 million in 2003. It was the highest finale vote in the show's history until the May 23, 2007 season-six finale.Barrino defeated runner-up Diana DeGarmo by 1.3 million votes. At age 19, she was the youngest American Idol winner until May 23, 2007, when the 17-year-old Jordin Sparks won the title.

• In September 2005, Barrino published a memoir, dictated to a freelance writer, titled Life Is Not a Fairy Tale. The book became a New York Times best-seller, reaching number seven on the list. In it, she revealed she is functionally illiterate and was unable to read the text of contracts she signed or to read to her then four-year-old daughter. In 2006, following the release of her autobiography, Life Is Not a Fairy Tale, Barrino's father sued her for $10 million after she said unflattering things about him in the book that he claimed were false.
• On February 13, 2011, Fantasia won her first Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for "Bittersweet".
• On August 1, 2011, Barrino announced a second pregnancy during a charity concert event in Jacksonville, Florida. She did not reveal the name of the father. September 13, 2011 it was confirmed that the singer would be having a boy. On December 13, 2011 she gave birth to a son, Dallas Xavier Barrino by Antwaun Cook.

She is My Favorite Singer because I feel her anointment. She has a beautiful spirit that transcends the music to my ears perfectly. Fantasia needs to learn to love herself and I will continue to Love her and I wish her nothing less than the best.

She spoke about why she started her Keep A Child Alive foundation and how her trip to Africa in the early 2000s opened her eyes to the AIDS pandemic.

“It was human beings that I was meeting and seeing and coming in contact with and they were my age,” said Alicia. “They were five years younger than me and they had dealt with the most difficult, horrible circumstances and situations, and watched their parents just die and could do nothing about it because there was no way on Earth to access medicine.”

My Favorite Performance of the Night. Nicki came in with a priest and dressed in a long heavy red jacket somewhat like Red Riding Hood. She did not smile, speak or take her hood off. She walked in with the  priest on her arm.

• Later in the night, she performed. During her performance, she introduced a character from her Series, Roman, whom I had assumed was a boy.
• In several of her songs, Roman was mentioned. In her song with Eminem, a vulgar, careless and fearless character named Roman was introduced. In Moment for Life, Roman's mother, Martha had a cameo and when asked "Where was Roman?" His Mother said "In bording school."
• To my suprise, I found out Roman is a blonde, naturally beautiful woman. Don't Mistake the beautiful outward appearance for his/her personality. Roman is quite pyschotic!! Nicki put on a daring performance that to many was an excorcism.

I Love Nicki and her performance made me excited. So, for those who thought it was Satanic, calm down and Thank God for giving Onika Maraj, the beautiful talents that he bestowed upon her. I want to see the characters in a movie.

She arrived in a slender, long black gown with a tan. She was definitely the best dressed, her gown was Armani and she designed the idea of the piece. The back was out and a deep v was in the front. Rihanna said it was classy but a little gangsta. I absolutely Love Rihanna and consider her my Sister!!! Her younger brother and father was there as well.

                                                  

So as I type this, I'm screaming "Go Sister, Go Sister,Go!!" I LOVE YOU!!

Ice Loves Coco, no wonder why!!! This woman knows how to be a woman. She was dressed by Fashion police (the only man on the show). I love their Love.

Katy Perry

I love Katy Perry, she seems fun and crazy but her dress on the Grammy's killed me. I did not like the shape, or the overall look. It looked like a grandma dress, it did not excite me or seem apropriate. Katy is wild and fun.
Tyra always says if your gonna show up top, dont show all your legs and vice versa. So, this would give Katy a classy but still young appearance.
She could've kept the soft blue as the color. She could've worn something like:

His performance was a shocker. He brought energy, James Brown moves and his Souful voice. Plus, I know he is soooo cute.

The performance was o.k. but I'm kind of sick of him just dancing, I need to see new moves. I would like to hear him kill me with his voice in a love song. His dancing is already the best and we know this. I need More because when I seen Chris in concert, F.A.M.E concert, I was a little dissapointed. Kelly Rowland T.Pain did wonderful which I expected. I expected More out of Chris, his fun spirit seemed to be missing.
